Beide Thesen widerlegt die vorliegende Studie mittels einer Interpretation der annotierten Übersetzung von Dainis Schrift Ryushi shinron. Yamagata Daini wird als Repräsentant eines kritischen Loyalismus gedeutet, der dem Tokugawa-Haus mit Sympathie begegnete.
